A Deputy Director is Hired - Welcome Clara Pitoscia

The Executive Council has approved the hiring of Clara Pitoscia for the position of Deputy Director of the Catholic Principals’ Council of Ontario, effective September 1, 2009. Clara is well known to CPCO and brings with her an expertise in employee relations, program coordination and communications.

Clara Pitoscia has served with the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board for the past 25 years. She has worked as an elementary and secondary school teacher, as department head, and for the last 13 years as an administrator. Clara is the founding and current principal of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Secondary School in Mississauga.

She has been extensively involved with her local association during her tenure as an administrator; has served as CDR and Chief Negotiator, as well as negotiator on the board team for the secondary teachers’ negotiations. Clara was a member of the original CPCO constitution committee, served on the Executive Council of CPCO as a secondary councillor, and represented CPCO on numerous ministry committees and focus groups over the past 10 years.

As part of her transition to deputy director, she will join the executive council in January 2009 in the position of past-president. We congratulate Clara on her appointment and look forward to working with her in her new role.
