
Next week’s electronic magazine will include an invitation to CPCO’s Regular Members to consider applying for membership to one of CPCO’s standing committees for the 2010 – 2011 school year. This is a wonderful opportunity for members to get involved in the work of CPCO at a very grass roots level. CPCO’s governance model identifies the work of committees as critical to the flow of communication supporting informed decision-making on the part of the executive council. Along with the Council of District Representatives, our committees provide good counsel and research into matters that directly impact our organization’s ability to meet our mandate of providing service and advocacy to and for its members.

The executive council dedicates a lot of time on the agenda of its August meeting to determine the member composition of its standing committees. Consideration is given to such criteria as regional representation, gender and panel as well as principal/vice-principal representation.
Please consider submitting your name for committee membership for the 2010-2011 school year. More information including the application form will be available in the June 2nd e-zine.
This e-zine contains a Ministry article interviewing Dr. Ken Leithwood, professor of Educational Leadership and Policy at OISE/University of Toronto. The Ministry of Education has contracted Dr. Leithwood to act as its leadership advisor for the next two years.
