The 2010 Annual General Meeting (AGM) resulted in delegates committing to a three year budget plan. The budget which includes a $60.00 fee increase next year and $35.00 in each of the two years following provides an unprecedented three-year financial commitment from delegates allowing the executive council to meet the growing demands of service and advocacy for its members.
The budget commits to the growth of a reserve fund which will allow the executive council to seriously consider options to address our legal costs which consumed nearly $750,000.00 this year. The reserve will also provide the executive council the ability to consider alternatives to the $175,000.00 CPCO pays to lease office space in Toronto. Most of all the commitment to a three-year budget allows the executive council in consultation with CDRs to move the organization forward as a leader of professional development and resources for Catholic school principals/vice-principals in Ontario and beyond. AGM documents are available on the CPCO website.
Should you have any questions about the AGM please contact me, Executive Director Clara Pitoscia or your delegates.
Congratulations to the principals/vice-principals of the Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board for hosting a tremendously successful 2010 conference! Clearly, the hard work and commitment to excellence from our hosts and the CPCO staff were evident to the 350 participants at the conference.
CPCO will continue to work with Minister of Education Leona Dombrowsky to ensure that the complex role of principals/vice-principals in the operation of schools and leading student achievement remains a primary focus of future discussions and strategic planning.
As we celebrate Catholic Education Week we wish you continued success in your endeavours to promote and proclaim our enduring gift of Catholic education in Ontario.
