As part of the implementation process, it is important for school leaders to have opportunities to connect with one another to discuss successes and challenges. From June 2022 to November 2022, two Professional Learning Networks (PLNs) will meet to discuss and reflect on the implementation of the revised curriculum. Through the PLNs, school leaders will have the opportunity to share resources and practices that have been useful at different steps of the implementation process. Association representatives will be present during the meetings of the PLNs to support the discussions and gather information to support resource development.
PLN # 2: STEM - Tweaking and Fortifying the Science Program: Supporting your educators in identifying ways to enhance their own program in an intentional way.
Description: During this professional learning network school leaders will examine ways they can“level up” using traditional “STEM” task to meet the expectations of the new curriculum. This session will provide an opportunity to develop a Problem Solving Mindset and Inquiry-based Thinking. This session will also provide opportunity for principals and vice-principals to share ideas and resources, make connections to the current work, gather feedback, support leadership moves and set next steps.
Date: Wednesday November 30, 2022.
